Animal Medicines Australia Ltd (AMA) is the industry body representing the leaders of the animal health industry in Australia.

Animal Medicines Australia member companies are the innovators, manufacturers, formulators and registrants of a broad range of veterinary medicine products that prevent, control and cure disease across the companion animal, livestock and equine sectors.

In the livestock sector, member company products are improving agricultural yield while delivering improved environmental, health, safety and animal welfare outcomes.

In the companion animal sector, veterinary medicines produced by member companies are facilitating longer partnerships between humans and animals.

Animal Medicines Australia works closely with a variety of industry organisations to promote an evidence based approach to public policy.

History

Leading the way in animal health

Animal Medicines Australia (AMA) is the peak industry body representing the leaders in the animal health industry in Australia. It was established to advocate for policies that support the responsible development, regulation, and use of veterinary medicines, vaccines, and animal health products.

AMA has played a key role in shaping the regulatory environment for animal health products, working closely with government agencies, industry stakeholders, and veterinarians to ensure access to safe and effective treatments for livestock, companion animals, and wildlife. AMA has also been instrumental in promoting responsible pet ownership, biosecurity, and innovation in animal healthcare.

Over the years, AMA has evolved to become a trusted voice in animal health policy, providing research-driven insights and industry expertise to influence decision-making at both national and international levels.
