The agriculture and recycling industry came together this week in Melbourne to launch
an industry-led recycling initiative. Drums-to-Drums aims to close the loop on agricultural
and veterinary chemical containers by collecting, recycling and remaking them into new
agricultural and veterinary chemical packaging. The initiative is an evolution of the
internationally acclaimed product stewardship program, drumMUSTER, a national program
for the collection and recycling of plastic agricultural and veterinary chemical containers.
“Animal Medicines Australia’s members are pleased to participate in the drumMUSTER
program and welcome this development” said Animal Medicines Australia’s Executive
Director, Mr Ben Stapley.
“Responsible management and recycling of animal health
containers is a critical service to farmers that minimises container waste on farms.”
Animal Medicines Australia members take whole-of-life stewardship of their products
seriously by participating in the drumMUSTER program, further strengthening their
commitment to sustainable practices and product stewardship, and mitigating risks
from improper disposal practices.
